I visited Carpetright in Kidderminster to buy vinyl for my kitchen floor. I have been using this store for years. The gentleman came and measured up and a fitting date was arranged. When they came to fit we realised there was a problem as there had been a leak under the old vinyl. We needed to allow this to dry. I telephoned the store and booked it in again for 10 days time. In the meantime I had phoned to inform them that some of the boards had curled, I heard nothing back. On the morning fitting was due I telephoned the store at 9.30am because I had heard nothing from the fitter. John said he would phone straight back, nothing. At 2.40pm after waiting 5 hours I phoned and managed to get through. The answerphone had been picking up prior o that. John answered the phone, when I said who it was and he had said he'd ring me he just handed the phone to the 'manager' Christopher, without telling me what he was doing. Christopher accused me of shouting at him. I was not shouting I was talking emphatically to get my point across. He said that the woman who booked the fitting was not in the shop and that the fitting was not in the diary and they could do it in another six days. He did not apologize or try to explain what had happened to the 'missing ' fitting. Nothing , he was very rude. In the meantime I have two rolls of vinyl stuck in a conservatory through which I need wheelchair access. I suggest that John and Christopher are sent on some PR training asap. I have spent thousands over the years in that shop but I will never, ever use them again. Bad PR and bad management loses customers.
